England kicked off their Euro 2024 campaign with an unconvincing 1-0 win over Serbia on Sunday evening.
For the first time since Euro 1992 in Sweden, Tottenham don’t have a player representing England at the tournament.
James Maddison missed out on Gareth Southgate’s squad after a disappointing end to the season with Spurs. But as well as supporting the Three Lions, Tottenham fans do have a few former players they can get behind and none more than Harry Kane.
The club’s all-time top goalscorer departed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Bayern Munich last summer but remains a popular figure amongst Spurs supporters.
Kane struggled to get into the game last night as England picked up a narrow win to kick off their Euros campaign.
The 30-year-old managed just 24 touches of the ball and one shot on goal, where he was denied by the fingertips of the Serbia goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic.
And while the striker has received plenty of criticism from rival fanbases, Tottenham fans are divided on his display.

Tottenham fans react to Kane’s display vs Serbia
Kane rattled the woodwork with a header in the second half but apart from that, he struggled to make an impact due to a lack of service.
With that being said, he proved crucial to England seeing out the game as he held the ball up brilliantly in the latter stages of the game while winning fouls.
Some Spurs supporters picked up on his efforts, with one claiming he did his job ‘perfectly’.
“Drew six fouls today, without him today, England cave in to that pressure, that level of hold-up play is insanity. He had a job due to the situation, and he done it perfectly,” they wrote.
Another agreed and stated that Kane delivered a ‘masterclass’ in playing with his back to goal.
Others were less impressed with Kane’s performance, with one fan claiming Kane went ‘missing’ for England.
Kane’s record at Euro 2020 should encourage fans
Kane has proven to be England’s main goalscorer in recent years and fans shouldn’t panic off the back of a difficult evening against Serbia.
At Euro 2020, where England reached the final, Kane failed to find the back of the net in the group stages but went on to score three in the knockout rounds.

Southgate certainly has work to do in terms of providing the England captain with better service.
Kane was clearly instructed to occupy Serbia’s central defenders last night and didn’t drop into deeper positions anywhere near as often as usual.
Despite that, he was unfortunate not to grab a goal in the second half as he was denied by the crossbar and we’re certain the goals will flow soon enough for the former Tottenham star.
