Tanguy Ndombele posts message on social media after confirming he’s left Tottenham

Midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has issued an honest message on social media following his exit from Tottenham Hotspur.

On Wednesday, the Frenchman’s five-year stint with Tottenham came to an end when the club came to a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.

Tanguy Ndombele was the club’s record signing after making the £63m move from Lyon back in 2019.

However, his time with the club has been cut short with one year still remaining on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Summer exits are on the agenda at Hotspur Way this summer with Tottenham believed to have a list of 15 players they are willing to sell over the coming months.

Having had his exit now confirmed by the club, Ndombele has issued a message to the fans after his departure was made public.

What Tanguy Ndombele has said about leaving Tottenham

Despite being the club’s record signing, Ndombele has not played for Spurs in over two years now having been sent out on loan on various loan deals.

The Frenchman – ironically – has lifted the league title in his last two loan deals with Napoli and Galatasaray, respectively.

However, neither side were keen to keep him at the club following the end of his loan deals as he made the return to north London.

Now Ange Postecoglou has had a year to assess his squad he inherited, the Frenchman has fallen victim to the ruthless cull happening at Spurs this summer.

After his exit was confirmed by the club, Ndombele took to his Instagram account to share his thoughts with the fans.

“End of my adventure in the best club in London. I learned a lot during my time at Tottenham,” he said.

“Thank you for the unwavering support of the supporters. I wish you all the best for the future and I know you will be extremely successful.”

A fairly warm farewell for a player who has struggled so much since signing.

What next for Spurs after releasing Ndombele?

The exits are beginning to pick up pace at Hotspur Way with Daniel Levy overseeing the departure of several players already.

However, the exits which have been sanctioned are yet to bring in any money to the club, so now Spurs will be looking to cash in on the likes of Emerson Royal and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Given Ndombele has not played for Spurs in over two years, it’s probably not right to say the club now need to go and find his replacement.

But midfield is an area which Tottenham are looking strengthen this summer with Conor Gallagher believed to be at the top of their list.
