Family pay tribute to ‘devoted father’ and ‘much-loved husband’ who died when car entered water in Cambridgeshire

The family of a man who died after the car he was driving left the road and entered water have paid tribute to him as a “devoted father”.

Jamie Parish, 35, of Stirling Square, Godmanchester, lost his life when his red Mercedes C220 entered the Fort Foot Drain, Forty Foot Bank, near Chatteris, at about 11.50am on Thursday, 13 June.

Emergency services attended and the road was closed while rescue efforts took place and the vehicle was recovered, but Mr Parish was pronounced dead at the scene.

The family said in a statement: “Jamie was a much-loved husband, brother, son, grandson and a devoted father to his children. He was tragically taken too soon.”
