Several countries continue to study the text of the Peace Summit communiqué on the war in Ukraine and will decide on possible accession to it, according to a statement by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

What is wrong with the signatures of Iraq and Jordan

According to the minister, the disappearance of Iraq's and Jordan's signatures to the Peace Summit communiqué on the war in Ukraine was first reported by representatives of the state Russian news agency.

Kuleba explained that the Russian Federation is engaged in propaganda and is currently using this news about the alleged withdrawal of Iraq's and Jordan's signatures.

"Everyone is savoring it, and based on this, explanations are being built that the Summit was not successful. Maybe let's stop playing along with Russian propaganda and instead of writing and repeating after Russian propaganda, let's analyze the situation objectively," the minister said.

At the same time, the Foreign Minister clarified that Iraq had warned that it would not join the declaration due to its internal issues, and they accidentally appeared on the list. Jordan did not notify Switzerland that it was joining the communiqué, but it did not refuse to join either.

Several other countries may join the communiqué

Kuleba added that Jordan will resolve this issue with the leadership of its own country. The text will be further studied and then they will inform about their decision, but technically, both countries were included in the list of signatories by mistake.

"But in reality, the situation is a bit different and we now have several countries that continue to study the text. They will decide whether to join it or not. I have no doubt that there will be more countries that will join this joint communiqué," Kuleba said.

Peace Summit in Switzerland

Over the weekend, a Peace Summit was held in Switzerland, attended by more than 100 states and international organizations. Most states and leaders of organizations signed a joint communiqué.

It became known that the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople decided to join the signatories of the Peace Summit communiqué on Ukraine.
