Quirky West Ham 2024/25 PL fixture list throws up crazy twist that’s surely never been seen before

The West Ham United 2024/25 Premier League fixture list was released this morning, on June 18th.

Julen Lopetegui is ready to oversee an exciting new era at West Ham, and he now knows exactly who his side will face, and when.

Some standout fixtures are Aston Villa at home on the opening day, Tottenham away in October, Southampton away on Boxing Day and a trip to Ipswich on the final day of the season.

Lopetegui has a lot of work on his hands at the London Stadium, with David Sullivan having set the Spaniard the target of a top six finish.

The 57-year-old needs to make at least six new signings this summer – something that he’s apparently trying to do.

In fairness, I think he’ll probably have to bring eight new players to the club as a bare minimum, if West Ham are to compete on all fronts.

Don’t forget, plenty of players are set to leave the London Stadium as well – as many as 12 are being linked with the exit door.

So with such a big squad overhaul required, a top six finish certainly won’t be easy to achieve. That said, with no continental football at West Ham this season, we should have a better chance of forcing our way inside the European spots.

And now we all know the exact route the Hammers will have to navigate this upcoming season…

West Ham 2024/25 Premier League fixture list throws up quirky twist

The day that the new Premier League fixtures come out is always eagerly anticipated from football fans up and down the country.

This summer especially for the Hammers fans, with a new manager in place at the London Stadium.

West Ham’s fixtures were released at 9am this morning, via the club’s official website.

So, the Hammers’ first nine fixtures are – Aston Villa (h), Crystal Palace (a), Manchester City (h), Fulham (a), Chelsea (h), Brentford (a), Ipswich Town (h), Tottenham (a) and Manchester United (h).

That means that West Ham will not have to leave London until our 10th game of the season, when we head to the East Midlands to take on Nottingham Forest on November 2nd.

Surely this has never happened before, or at least I can’t ever remember seeing our fixtures panning out like that in recent history.

It’s obviously going to be a very tough start to the season for the Hammers, and Lopetegui will surely be targeting wins against Crystal Palace, Fulham, Brentford and Ipswich Town during our first nine-game stretch.

The West Ham 2024/25 Premier League fixture list looks like an incredibly tough one on paper but as the old adage goes, you’ve got to play every team twice, just like every single side in the division has to.

I’m just hoping that Lopetegui manages to to find a way to get his side off to a decent start.
