Report: What Chelsea plan to do with Noni Madueke if they sign Michael Olise

Chelsea remain keen on signing Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise this summer.

According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are really pushing to agree personal terms with Michael Olise.

In theory, it is a move that could have ramifications for Noni Madueke.

Madueke became Chelsea’s first-choice right winger towards the end of last season, with Cole Palmer moving to the No.10 position and Conor Gallagher dropping into midfield after Enzo Fernandez’s operation.

It will now be interesting to see what happens to him if the Blues do go on to land Olise.

Would Michael Olise joining Chelsea spell the end for Noni Madueke?

You would have to fear for Madueke’s minutes if the club bought Olise in this transfer window.

Chelsea, though, could yet offer the 22-year-old some reassurances.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea do not see it as one in and one potentially out with Olise and Madueke.

Instead, the Blues plan to have both players as their two options for the right flank, with Palmer expected to take up a more central role next season.

Whether they will actually be able to keep the two wide men happy, though, remains to be seen.

Should Chelsea allow Noni Madueke to leave the club if they sign Michael Olise?

It has been claimed that Madueke is a player who Chelsea could offer to Palace in their bid to get a deal for Olise over the line.

The club really want Olise it seems, and you would expect him to be a starter if he arrives at Stamford Bridge.

The France U21 international scored 10 goals and provided six assists in just 19 Premier League appearances last term, which is very impressive.

However, that does not mean Chelsea should just discard Madueke like that.

They need the depth now that they are back in Europe, and Olise has had his injury problems. If Madueke is happy to remain in west London, then Enzo Maresca should definitely keep him in his squad.
