Music star and dance legend Paul Spencer of Dario G has sadly died, encouraging fans from the famous to the inspired to pay heartfelt tribute.

It doesn’t matter whether you were around to enjoy every moment at the time or simply appreciate its lasting legacy on the landscape of modern music, ’90s dance was, is, and always will be a gift to be thankful for. If you’re familiar, then it’s more than likely the name Dario G is too. The duo was formed by Paul Spencer and Scott Rosser, later inducting Stephen Spencer into the mix. Soon after, they scored a big hit with the song Sunchyme, a nostalgic favorite to this day. After some time the trio became a solo act continued by Paul, who collaborated with the likes of Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne under the moniker. Tragically, the dance music community is shaken to learn that the beloved figure Paul Spencer has died…

Dario G pioneer Paul Spencer has died at 53

It was recently announced by Paul’s family that the Dario G legend passed away from stage four rectal cancer at 53 on Monday, June 17th 2024.

“He remained positive until the end,” they shared in a painful post. “But this was one battle he could not fight anymore. He leaves behind a wonderful musical legacy and many happy memories.”

Signing off, the family wrote: “He will be sadly missed by everyone who loved him. Shine bright, our big star.”

Many of the celebrity‘s fans were chronicling his brave cancer journey through social media, as he announced his diagnosis in June 2023. “Hard to write this,” he began his upsetting health announcement. “I’ve just found out that I’ve got stage 4 rectal cancer and a shadow on my liver. That’s damn hard to read too I’m sure.”

He kept fans, friends, and family up to date via Instagram throughout this incredibly difficult time, and he even released a song called Savour the Miracle of Life for Macmillan Cancer Support, helping those facing his struggle.

After canceling a scheduled performance at Chris Moyles’ 90s Hangover concert in the UK in late May, people became more and more worried about his health. Heartbreakingly, he is no longer with us, but his memory shines bright in the forefront of so many minds.
