Nayyem confirmed to Bloomberg that Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal personally denied his June 9 request to travel to Berlin "without providing reasons," leading Nayyem to resign.

The PM himself did not attend the conference, as a government source told NV he "decided to focus on internal work."

Nayyem informed NV on June 10 that the decision to prevent him from attending the Berlin conference had been made long before Shmyhal's official letter.
