Report: Club tempted to sell £45m West Ham target who's 'one of the best' around if valuation is met

West Ham United have been busy in the early stages of the summer transfer window and this is likely to continue over the coming weeks.

The Hammers have already got one signing on board, bringing Luis Guilherme to the London Stadium from Brazilian club Palmeiras.

West Ham have a new manager on board in Julen Lopetegui and the Premier League club will be eager to give him the necessary tools to hit the ground running.

The east Londoners are likely to bolster their defensive ranks this summer after a difficult season in which they failed to qualify for Europe.

West Ham conceded 74 goals in the Premier League last campaign, more than any other team in the top half of the table.

TalkSPORT has now provided an update regarding a Hammers target who has been described as “one of the best” when it comes to one-on-one defending.

West Ham eyeing Max Kilman approach as Wolves potentially open to selling

The player in question is Wolves captain Max Kilman.

The West Midlands side is reportedly tempted to sell him if his valuation is met. Gary O’Neil’s side is said to value the 27-year-old at £45million.

Meanwhile, West Ham are reportedly ready to renew their long-standing interest in Kilman after failing to sign him during the January transfer window.

As well as the Hammers, Manchester United are said to be keen on Kilman, whose contract at Molineux runs until 2028.

Who is West Ham target Max Kilman?

Max Kilman has been a revelation for Wolves since being snapped up from Maidenhead United back in 2018.

He has more than proven himself in the Premier League in recent years, both as a defender and as Wolves’ captain, with 151 appearances in old gold under his belt.

The 27-year-old is not only superb with the ball at his feet, but he has been deemed one of the best in the English top flight in terms of one-on-ones.

Andy Thompson said on Wolves Weekly Matchday Live Extra following the loss to Arsenal in April: “He’s probably one of the best in the Premier League one-vs-one defending.

“He just seems to get better every time we see him. He’s comfortable on the ball. he heads it, he’ll pass it, he challenges for things, he’s strong, he’s a good player and he’s getting better.”

Kilman would be a superb signing for West Ham as he’s talented, boasts plenty of Premier League experience, and is very much in his prime as a centre-back.
