Jose Mourinho comes back to haunt West Ham with reported move to sign 24-yo star

Jose Mourinho could be about to cause a very big problem for West Ham United this summer it seems.

West Ham have always found it hard when coming up against the legend that is Jose Mourinho.

Interestingly, the 61-year-old was actually linked with the Hammers job on numerous occasions over the past year or so – most notably in April 2023 when he was apparently offered a ‘mega-money deal’ by the owners.

He obviously never joined West Ham in the end, and was recently named as the new Fenerbahce manager.

Mourinho is reportedly looking to considerably strengthen his squad in the summer transfer window.

And the former Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United manager could now be set to deal West Ham a real hammer blow this summer…

Jose Mourinho comes back to haunt West Ham

The Hammers haven’t fared very well at all when coming up against Jose in the past.

Mourinho won 13, drew four and lost just three times during 20 clashes with West Ham throughout the years (Transfermarkt).

Jose has always been a thorn in our side, and his hoodoo over us could well continue this summer.

The Portuguese has just taken over as the new Fenerbahce manager, and he could be set to beat Lopetegui to one of his prime transfer targets this summer.

According to a report from A Bola, Mourinho is eyeing up a move to bring Jota Silva to the Turkish giants – a player who Lopetegui really wants at West Ham.

In fact, it was only yesterday when it was claimed that the 24-year-old Vitoria de Guimaraes winger was ‘destined’ to join the Hammers.

The lure of being coached by Jose Mourinho may well be too hard to resist for the West Ham target this summer.

And missing out on the Portuguese ace would be a real shame.

The attacker was in fine form out in Portugal last season, with 15 goals and seven assists to his name for Vitoria de Guimaraes.

He’s exactly what we need right now – a right-footed winger who plays out wide on the left.

However, Mourinho could well come back to haunt us by beating the Hammers to Silva’s signature this summer.
