Insider suggests Gers will have their cake & eat it amid Koppen links to exciting striker duo

Strikers are apparently like Glasgow buses when it comes to Rangers.

You wait so long for one, and two come along at once.

Well, at least that’s what the Rangers support are hoping happens amid high profile links to both Hamza Igamane and Albion Rrahmani.

Over the weekend news broke that Rangers are closing in on a £1.7m deal to sign Hamza Igamane from Moroccan side FAR Rabat.

Rated amongst the best young strikers in world football, it’s a deal which has excited Ibrox fans more and more as every second has passed and every clip has been watched.

But there have been fears the deal has interrupted interest in Rapid Bucharest’s Kosovan hitman Albion Rrahmani.

It’s a notion which hasn’t been helped by the Romanian club’s president laughing a bid all the way out of Bucharest.

Now, leading Rangers insider Stevie Clifford from Four Lads Had a Dream has been discussing the situation and he’s not so sure the two transfers are linked.

‘Rangers hunting number nines’

Stevie Clifford is known to have close links to Rangers and his Four Lads Had a Dream platform is amongst the prominent Ibrox fan media around.

Speaking on the platform’s latest podcast, Clifford has been reacting to the Rangers links to Hamza Igamane and Albion Rrahmani.

Confirming that Rangers are definitely on the hunt for more firepower this summer, the Four Lads Had a Dream host reckons that the Gers could line up with four strikers next season.

It comes with Danilo returning from injury and current number nine Cyriel Dessers in no rush to go anywhere.

“Rangers are definitely interested in nines,” Clifford told the podcast.

“It is a case of whether the bid for Rrahmani is not enough and they’ve moved on. We’ll find out in due course.

“I think we need two nines coming into the club plus Danilo. I don’t see Cyriel Dessers overly keen to move either.”

Igamane, Rrahamani, Danilo & Dessers?

You’ll forgive Rangers fans for thinking that the emergence of links to Hamza Igamane might have come at the expense of Albion Rrahmani.

Rangers had after all been extensively linked to the Kosovan striker all summer long.

But with the likes of Football Scotland insisting that Rangers remain in ‘pole position’ to sign the frontman this summer the links to Igamane take on a fresh appeal.

If Rangers can get a move for both players over the line then combined with the presence of Danilo and Cyriel Dessers our frontline will certainly swell ahead of next season.

It’s very much ‘watch this space’ until any deals are confirmed but for the time being, the comments of Stevie Clifford will only whet the appetite of supporters.

Over to Nils Koppen and Philippe Clement to seal the deals ahead of pre-season training returning next week.
