5-star CB Dorian Brew to take Ohio State official visit

Ohio State is building arguably the best defensive backfield in the 2025 recruiting class, and the Buckeyes will soon get a shot at another big target.

Conroe (Texas) five-star cornerback Dorian Brew is expected to take an official visit to Columbus this weekend, according to On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

Brew is currently on his official visit to Texas. Previous OVs include trips to LSU, USC and Oregon. Ohio State and USC appear to be the two schools battling at the top, Wiltfong added.

Ties to OSU and relationship with Tim Walton

Brew is a legacy recruit at Ohio State, as his mother is in the track Hall of Fame. Last month at the On3 Elite Series, Brew noted his strong relationship with Buckeyes cornerbacks coach Tim Walton.

“Being a kid that started playing football in Ohio, grew up basically in Ohio part of my life, that’s my dream school,” Brew said. “Living in that state, my mom went there, they’ve probably been the school that’s been recruiting me the most throughout my process.”

“The things that they’ve done defensively, what Coach (Tim Walton) has done with the corners, DBs in general, that really makes me excited that I can get developed and coached by the best.”

Dorian Brew Recruit Profile

Brew is the nation’s No. 29 overall prospect, No. 4 cornerback and No. 8 recruit from Texas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 is higher on Brew than the other major recruiting services. He ranks No. 22 nationally in the 2025 On300.

On3 Scouting Summary: “Dorian Brew came on the scene as a playmaking wide receiver and defensive back before really emerging as a true corner prospect. He has outstanding size and speed, in terms of physique he’s close to 200 pounds and consistently runs sub 11 seconds in the 100 meters. He has an elite pedigree with his both of his parents being sprinters and his dad being an Olympic medalist. His ball skills are ahead of the curve given his receiver background and his speed is apparent as well, and he has shown improvement as a corner playing there full-time during his junior season.”
