'For sure': Lamine Yamal says he'd love Barcelona to sign £43m Arsenal target this summer

Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has now admitted that he’d love his club to sign a player who has often been linked with a move to Arsenal.

Right now, alongside the likes of Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice, Yamal is starring at Euro 2024 with Spain.

The 16-year-old is evidently a generational talent, the youngest men’s Euros player there’s ever been.

And Yamal isn’t just turning out for Spain, he’s deciding games at the highest level too.

There’s a certain parallel between the young winger and Saka, two priceless homegrown talents hoping to inspire another trophy laden era for club and country.

And to that end, it seems as if both Barcelona and Arsenal will be busy attempting to strengthen their respective squads around each winger this summer.

Mikel Arteta, who has deep Barcelona roots himself, is thought to want a forward, a central midfielder and a versatile defender this summer.

And having now failed in attempts to sign RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Arsenal sought a winger instead.

Lamine Yamal says he’d definitely sign Arsenal target Nico Williams for Barcelona

Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams is often linked with a move to Arsenal these days, a 21-year-old who is thought to be available for around £43m this summer.

And when speaking whilst away with Williams with Spain right now, Yamal admitted that his fellow attacker would be his dream signing at Barcelona.

Speaking to Partidazo de COPE, Yamal said: “I’d sign Nico Williams, for sure! If you ask me just one player to sign, I’d say him.

“I hope to share the locker-room with Nico at Barca.”

Of course, Arsenal would likely be hard-pressed to compete with Barcelona to sign Williams should the situation ever arise.

But judging by William’s opening performance at Euro 2024, he’s definitely a player Arteta should be chasing – someone who can give Arsenal added x-factor in attack.

Moreover, at the price mentioned above, signing the Spaniard would represent a bargain, a player with so much potential to fulfil.

Arsenal need better backup for Bukayo Saka on the right wing, and added competition for Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli on the left certainly wouldn’t hurt either.

That being said, Belgian sources have now been reacting to Trossard’s opening performance at Euro 2024.
