Report: Tottenham are worried they won't be able to sign Postecoglou the £50m player he's personally requested

Tottenham Hotspur are now worried they will leave Ange Postecoglou a disappointed figure this summer as fears grow over one of their transfer targets.

Although the window may now be open for business, this summer’s Euros may well have brought a halt to any early arrivals at Tottenham.

The Lilywhites have already secured Timo Werner‘s services for another season on loan from RB Leipzig, but there has been no permanent signings just yet.

Ange Postecoglou will have upgrades on his mind having overseen his first campaign at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But there are fears growing at the club that they may face a massive struggle to convince one of Postecoglou’s top targets to join this summer.

Tottenham remain keen to sign Conor Gallagher this summer

One of the main names to be linked with a potential switch to Tottenham this summer has been Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

Spurs may be needing to replace midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg later on in the window with the Denmark international already receiving interest from other clubs.

Postecoglou is said to be a huge fan of the England international, Gallagher, who is currently away with Gareth Southgate’s squad.

However, according to the Evening Standard, Spurs are now concerned they are not going to be able to persuade Gallagher to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

The 24-year-old is still in contract limbo at his boyhood club with the Blues believed to be willing to move him on to balance the books with just one year left on his deal.

But Gallagher is now said to be aiming to impress his current club with an impressive Euros campaign with the Three Lions.

Tottenham must move on if Conor Gallagher refuses

A move for Gallagher this summer could see Spurs needing to part with around £50m this summer.

It is a position which Tottenham are keen to improve over the coming months on top of the arrival of Lucas Bergvall.

Any deal for Gallagher is looking like it could drag on into the summer with the player keen to remain put in west London.

Postecoglou has previously admitted he is only keen to sign players who are completely sold on playing for Spurs and giving them their all.

If Gallagher is not looking to provide Spurs with that then perhaps it is time Postecoglou and co to move their attentions elsewhere.
