Report: 17-goal Wolves target has received an eye-watering £134,000 per week offer from another club

A player Wolves have been interested in for some time has now been offered big money for another club.

Gary O’Neil has long wanted a new striker at Wolves.

The manager was desperate to bring one in back in January. But ultimately, the club’s precarious financial position prevented him from getting what he wanted.

Armando Broja was the man they wanted. But the Chelsea man joined Fulham on loan, with the Cottagers having no qualms about paying the loan fee.

Another player who was mentioned was Che Adams.

Adams is a player Wolves have liked since at least last summer. He is about to become a free-agent, with his Southampton contract about to expire.

Wolves have again been linked with the Scotland international, who has reportedly now been offered some serious money by another club.

Wolves target Che Adams offered huge contract by Saudi club Al-Shabab

Adams’ status as a soon-to-be unattached player has led to interest from a number of other clubs.

As well as Wolves, it is thought that Nottingham Forest have also taken an interest in the player.

As things currently stand, Wolves are not thought to have offered Adams – who was blocked from moving to Wolves last summer – a contract. But if they want him, they may now have to get a move on, because Adams has apparently received an offer from another club.

As reported by Ben Jacobs for Give Me Sport, Adams is the subject of interest from Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab.

They are said to be ‘making a late effort to try and persuade him to move to Riyadh on a three-year deal worth over £7m per season’. That equates to at least £134,000 per week.

Eye-watering offer could blow Wolves out the water

Everybody knows now about the obscene riches on offer in the Saudi Pro League, and it looks as though Adams has a big decision to make.

He would obviously not earn this kind of money anywhere else.

Adams, who scored 17 goals in 2023/24 for Southampton, is still a target for Wolves. But the club cannot offer anywhere near £134,000 per week.

It remains to be seen what he will do, although you would imagine a decision will be made quite soon as he’s set to officially become a free-agent on July 1.

If Adams did turn around and decline the offer from Saudi, then that would be a green flag, as it would indicate he still wants to play at the top level.
