Thomas Clarkson Academy in Wisbech marks Thank a Teacher Day

Teaching staff at a Wisbech academy have all been recognised for their inspirational work with students.

As part of Thank A Teacher Day yesterday (Wednesday), each of the 104 teaching and 70 support staff received a personal thank-you note from the Senior Leadership Team at the Thomas Clarkson Academy.

“Each day you inspire, nurture and challenge young minds, making a profound impact on our students’ lives and futures. Thank you for being the heart and soul of our academy. Your efforts are truly appreciated and we are incredibly proud to have such a great team,” the note says.

TCA's executive principal Richard Scott.

The school is currently preparing for the addition of a new academy on its grounds when The Wisbech Academy opens to Year 7s in the autumn. It will enable students to attend a school nearer home as local schools have been oversubscribed.

“Every teacher at the Thomas Clarkson Academy has contributed to help change the life of a young person through their commitment and dedication to all our students.

“Their hard work does not go unnoticed and Thank a Teacher Day is a good time to remind them how much we appreciate them all,” said executive principal Richard Scott.

Teaching staff at a Wisbech academy have all been recognised for their inspirational work with students.

“They deserve public recognition for the difference they make, and while this is a token of our appreciation, all our teaching and support staff should be proud of their work. Nobody comes into teaching for plaudits, but it’s always nice to say thank-you,” he added.

Thank A Teacher Day is organised by the Teaching Awards Trust set up in 1998 by Lord David Puttnam. It was established to celebrate the great work that takes place in education across the UK.
