After Kieran Tierney, 'amazing' Arsenal player has also gone down injured whilst away with his country

If Arsenal didn’t already have enough concerns following Kieran Tierney’s injury for Scotland on Wednesday, it seems there could be another issue elsewhere.

Tierney only managed to play 61 minutes in Scotland’s 1-1 draw with Switzerland, needing a stretcher to leave the pitch.

Scotland manager Steve Clarke has since ruled Tierney out of Sunday’s decider against Hungary at the very least, an issue which appeared serious enough to end his whole tournament.

Arsenal are looking to sell Tierney this summer, and whilst this latest injury should first and foremost derive sympathy for the player himself, it will also be very frustrating for the club.

Fulham were said to be interested in signing Tierney, a move that may now be deemed untenable given the Scot’s injury history.

It’s a huge shame for a player once envisioned as a future Arsenal captain, the kind of character every club would love to have.

That being said, Tierney is not the only Arsenal player who has suffered an injury worry in the last few days.

Gabriel Martinelli goes down injured after strong tackle from Real Madrid’s Eder Militao

Whilst away with Brazil preparing for Copa America, it seems as if Gabriel Martinelli has also suffered an injury scare.

The moment happened in Brazil’s training session on Tuesday, captured by TNT Sports Brasil.

Real Madrid’s Eder Militao competed for a 50/50 with Martinelli and the Arsenal man came off a lot worse, falling quite awkwardly to the ground.

Martinelli remained on the ground, comforted by Gabriel Magalhaes whilst Brazil’s medical staff started their assessment.

It wasn’t clear what injury Martinelli sustained, but he hobbled off of the training pitch aided by the national team’s doctors.

Since then, Martinelli has appeared in an extended interview with Brazilian outlet AS when no injury was mentioned.

Therefore, Arsenal fans can hope that the incident was quickly forgotten, with no lasting issue.

Incidentally, Martinelli did share his honest thoughts on Arsenal signing a new striker in the interview mentioned.

And after doing so, Martinelli also shared his opinion on Ethan Nwaneri’s future.

Amazing’ Martinelli looks set for a big season next time out, he’ll be determined to prove he’s a key player for Mikel Arteta once again.

And in order to do so, the Arsenal man will need to avoid any injury disruption, using Copa America as a platform to improve.
