Barcelona star Ferran Torres has emerged as a shock transfer target for West Ham United this summer.
The 24-year-old former Manchester City forward was first linked with a move to West Ham earlier this week, with Barcelona keen to raise funds by selling him.
Torres – a Premier League and La Liga winner – can play on both wings, in the number 10 position or even as a striker if need be.
The Spaniard is at his best when playing on the left wing though, and cutting inside onto his extremely dangerous right foot.
It’s little wonder why Julen Lopetegui might want to bring his fellow countryman to the London Stadium this summer.
The 57-year-old Hammers boss desperately needs to bolster his attacking ranks before the start of the new season.
Signing a versatile forward will be the order of the day – someone who can occupy all positions across the front-line.

The Spaniard seemingly faces a very uncertain future with the Catalan giants.
And he could well be set for another big transfer this summer, with the Hammers closely monitoring his situation.
There’s some good news for us it seems, although West Ham face one very specific problem as well.
According to the Express (page 66), Barcelona are demanding £30 million for Torres.
However, there’s some bad news for the Hammers. That’s because Mundo Deportivo are suggesting that the former Man City man only wants to stay at the Camp Nou.
That’s bad news, but who knows? Perhaps we can convince him to return to England.
He is a sensational attacking player, and would take West Ham to another level entirely.
Lopetegui needs to sign a right-footed left winger as a matter or urgency.
After Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals left the London Stadium, we are now without a player who can naturally play in that position.
The Barcelona man would be the perfect man for that specific job in my eyes.
Ferran Torres has bagged 51 goals and 34 assists in 265 career games, and he’d be an exceptional signing for West Ham this summer.
Whether the Hammers are able to convince him to move to the London Stadium remains to be seen though.
