Report: Two PL giants now want 'phenomenal' £60k-a-week Wolves player, one has spoken to his agents

Two Premier League giants are reportedly showing interest in one of Wolves’ most important players of 2023/24.

So far, Gary O’Neil hasn’t lost any players yet this summer, but it is expected that sooner or later there will be outgoings at Molineux.

Pedro Neto and Rayan Ait-Nouri are the players who have been written about the most and attracting the most attention. Neto now has the chance to put himself in the shop window at Euro 2024, and he made a brilliant start by helping Portugal to beat the Czech Republic on Tuesday night.

Max Kilman has also had a lot of speculation surrounding him in recent days.

But one player the vast majority of Wolves fans don’t want to see leave the club this summer is Matheus Cunha.

Recently, it was suggested that Manchester United were keen on the Brazilian – and now, there has been a development.

Cunha was one of Wolves’ most important players last season.

The 25-year-old was a breath of fresh air at times, and finished the campaign with 22 goal involvements to his name.

When Cunha picked up a hamstring injury back in February, Wolves really suffered as a result.

Had he managed to stay fit, then it’s very possible Wolves’ momentum would not have halted quite so dramatically, and the club would have finished higher in the table than 14th.

Manchester United were reported to be admirers of Cunha, and Caught Offside have today claimed that the Red Devils have actually now made contact with the player’s agents.

And apparently, Arsenal have also registered their interest in the £60,000-a-week South American.

It has previously been suggested that Cunha would cost potential suitors around £60 million this summer.

Cunha has been quoted as saying that he is happy at Molineux.

Wolves must not sell Cunha

There was always likely to be some interest in Cunha this summer after the fantastic season he had in 2023/24.

He was a key player for O’Neil, and it was clear to see what a big loss he was when he was on the sidelines with that hamstring injury.

Wolves simply must not entertain any interest in Cunha this summer.

If Wolves are to progress, and move up the Premier League table, after finishing 10th, 13th and 14th in the last three seasons, then players like the ‘phenomenal’ Cunha must be retained.

It is clear what a vital player he is for Wolves. That ball-carrying, athleticism, technical quality and mobility are brilliant traits that make him so difficult for opponents to get a hold of him.

Simply put, it would be negligence from the board to offload him.
