'Sensational': TalkSPORT pundit says Kyle Walker did something 'brilliant' for England vs Denmark

Manchester City have a lot of their first-team squad members in action for their countries in the 2024 European Championship.

In actual fact, the Citizens have more players (14) at the Euros than any other side in the top flight.

Three of those players are currently representing England, who have now played two of their three group games.

After beating Serbia 1-0, the Three Lions drew 1-1 against Denmark in their second match of the tournament.

England took the lead in this latest match through Harry Kane in the 18th minute, only to then concede the equaliser in the 34th minute.

Even though Gareth Southgate’s side walked away with just a point on this occasion, one City player found himself on the end of some heavy praise for one particular thing he did during the match.

Speaking on talkSPORT during their livestream of England’s latest match, Jason Cundy had this to say about Kyle Walker after he played a key role in the Three Lions’ only goal of the game against Denmark.

He said: “Brilliant run from Walker down the right-hand side. Sensational.”

Walker’s tenacity led to England’s goal against Denmark

In the build-up to England’s first and only goal against the Danes, Walker took the ball away from Victor Kristiansen at speed before putting the cross into the box that ultimately found its way to Kane who then put it in the back of the net.

Overall, it was down to the speed, strength, tenacity and attacking prowess of Walker that gave his side the advantage before the equaliser went in.

Interestingly, Rio Ferdinand recently picked the City captain as the only outfield player from the current England squad that he thinks would make it into the golden generation Three Lions side from around 20 years ago.

In our view, the 34-year-old’s efforts in the buildup to the first goal against Denmark show what he can offer his country from the attacking end of the pitch in addition to what he gives them at the back.
