Patrick Mahomes close to being 'greatest NFL player of all time', says expert

Patrick Mahomes has been a revelation for the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL and has already got people claiming that he is on the verge of being the greatest player of all time.

The Kansas City Chiefs had high expectations for their first-round draft pick in 2017, but he has definitely exceeded them.

Since being a starter, Patrick Mahomes has always won the AFC West, appeared in the AFC Championship every postseason, won three rings and three Super Bowl MVPs to match, and two regular-season MVPs.

Mahomes has set his franchise up with the chance to complete the illustrious three-peat – an achievement no team has reached before, despite being eight attempts.

Robert Griffin III believes Patrick Mahomes can exceed Tom Brady in 2024

Former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III has suggested that if the Kansas City Chiefs earned the three-peat, then in his mind, he is the greatest quarterback of all time; surpassing Tom Brady.

The 28-year-old has already achieved levels that Tom Brady failed to reach until 37 years old. Mahomes has already entered the G.O.A.T debate but still has his best years ahead of him at quarterback.

If the Chiefs were to win a third ring in a row, then the conversation or debate would roll long into the night and the next months if Mahomes is truly the greatest.

In Pete Prisco’s top 100 current NFL players, Mahomes sits above the rest followed by the defensive edge Myles Garrett.

Pete Prisco suggests Patrick Mahomes is chasing 10-time First-Team All-Pro not Brady

The NFL expert claimed that Mahomes is in the debate for the greatest player in NFL history but is not chasing Tom Brady.

“To me, Jerry Rice is the number one player of all time because there is no argument to be made about who the best receiver is. You can make an argument about any other position but not at wide receiver,” Prisco stated on CBS Sports.

He was asked if Rice is ahead of Tom Brady, and swiftly replied: “Yep he’s ahead of Tom Brady.”

“You can make a case for other people [at quarterback] but you can’t make a case at all for anybody at the wide receiver position. If he wins this year three in a row… I think it certainly put him in the conversation for best player of all time.”

Prisco is adamant that wide receiver Jerry Rice is seated at the head of the table in the greatest player of all time debate.

Rice lays claim to be the greatest player of all time, per Pete Prisco

Rice earned a mouthwatering 10 First-Team All-Pro selections and a lone Second-Team honor with the San Francisco 49ers.

He was the NFL’s receiving yards and touchdown leader on six occasions, setting various records in his stellar career.

Moreover, his individual honors are incomparable to any other wide receiver, and he was a fundamental talent to earn three Super Bowl rings.

Ultimately, Prisco has put Rice on the pedestal to be the best player ever, an opinion shared by many others, and Mahomes has to catch the receiver in the conversation.
