Kate Middleton's top priority as she's having 'bad days feeling weak and tired'

Kate Middleton admitted she’s having ‘good days and bad days’ fighting cancer, as a royal expert has said she’s making one thing her top priority when it comes to her health.

The Princess of Wales made her first public appearance in six months at the Trooping the Colour event over the weekend. Alongside her husband, Prince William, and their children George, Louis and Charlotte, the 42-year-old appeared in good spirits. Royal fans were delighted to see the next British Queen smiling and supporting her family during the difficult time she is facing at the moment. Ahead of the appearance, Kate Middleton issued a statement on how her treatment is going, as fans grew concerned over her lingering absence.

The mom-of-three released a statement confirming she is still having preventative chemotherapy for a cancer she was diagnosed with earlier this year.

Kate had undergone planned major abdominal surgery in January, around the same time King Charles went under the knife for an enlarged prostate. Shortly after, the monarch told the world he had been diagnosed with a type of cancer, with Buckingham Palace clarifying it was not prostate cancer.

Weeks later, Kate Middleton also confirmed the news she had been told she has a form of the disease, but has not disclosed which type.

Speculation on the Princess’ absence grew on social media, with trolls claiming horrific conspiracy theories were to blame for her missing big royal engagements.

Although experts believed Kate was ‘forced’ to come clean about her health, she told the world she took the time she needed to work out how to tackle the disease with her family, and more importantly, was thinking about her three young children.

In a first statement since the bombshell news, Kate Middleton released an update ahead of the Trooping the Colour the weekend.

She said she is making good progress, but has ‘good days and bad days’ on the chemotherapy treatment.

Kate added: “On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

The Princess expressed gratitude for fans’ well-wishes and for those sharing their own cancer experiences.

“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty,” she continued, and allowing herself the “much-needed time to heal”.

How long will the Princess of Wales be undergoing cancer treatment?

Kate Middleton is on anti-cancer drugs, that work to remove any remaining cancer cells that may be present in the body. These are designed to reduce the chance of it growing or coming back.

While Kensington Palace has not released further details about the type of cancer Kate has, or how long she might need the preventative treatment, the 42-year-old has said it’ll be for some time.

She said in her statement: “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.”

While Kate went into surgery for a condition and the palace at the time said it was not ‘cancer-related’, tests carried out after the operation found the disease.

Royal commentator Rupert Bell spoke to TalkTV about Kate Middleton’s appearance at Trooping the Colour.

He spoke on how, although she’s made attended a public event, her priority is still her family life and her health.

“From the moment the shock of her being revealed that she’d gone to hospital, people have been genuinely concerned,” He said. “They have every reason to be concerned.

“Just what [the diagnosis] meant, she’s still a young woman and something serious has happened.

“What I’m hearing is that she’s trying to lead as a normal family – private – life as possible.”

Bell also spoke about the Wales’ releasing a Father’s Day photo of Prince William and their children on Sunday.

He said it was taken at their ‘family happy place’. The picture, taken last month, was during the time William and Kate kept away from public duties as they focused on her health.
