David Sullivan deserves big credit as report shares 1 reason why En-Nesyri wants to join West Ham

Sevilla star Youssef En-Nesyri would be the absolute perfect centre-forward signing for West Ham United this summer.

West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui is believed to be closing in on a deal to sign Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla, for a bargain £21 million fee.

However, in what was a hugely surprising claim a few days ago, it was suggested that Lopetegui is actually targeting a different kind of profile to the 27-year-old striker.

I really don’t believe that, because put simply, you could not find a centre-forward better suited to Lopetegui’s set up than the Morocco international.

En-Nesyri is an incredibly hard worker. He is well-known for running the channels in order to provide more space for his teammates, and to help ease the pressure on his back-line.

The Sevilla forward is one of the very best strikers in world football when it comes to aerial ability, and he’s a very good finisher as well.

I firmly believe that he’d take the current West Ham attacking lineup to a whole new level entirely, and it seems like there’s every chance he will be London Stadium bound this summer…

One reason why Youssef En-Nesyri wants to join West Ham

The Morocco international hitman has actually been on the Hammers radar since January 2021, when David Moyes tried to bring him to the London Stadium.

And he has been linked with a move to West Ham pretty much every single transfer window since then.

I’m hugely surprised that the Sevilla forward is not already a Hammers player.

Lopetegui absolutely has to bring in an upgrade on Michail Antonio this summer, and En-Nesyri undoubtedly is the man for the job as far as I’m concerned.

West Ham cannot allow yet another transfer window to pass by without strengthening our centre-forward department.

According to a report from La Celina de Nervion, En-Nesyri is keen to link up with Lopetegui again, and that’s the chief reason why he wants to join the Hammers this summer.

David Sullivan deserves big credit for bringing the Spaniard to the London Stadium to replace David Moyes this summer.

The fact that the West Ham boss is held in such high esteem by the Sevilla striker is something that we need to take full advantage of this summer.

The thought of the 27-year-old playing in and around the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, Luis Guilherme and Lucas Paqueta is an extremely tantalising one.

The chances of En-Nesyri moving to East London seem to be increasing by the day.

En-Nesyri’s preference becomes clear

The former Leganes hitman has absolutely everything needed to be a very big success in the Premier League.

And what’s more, he’s at the perfect age to come into West Ham and hit the ground running.

So now that the Sevilla striker’s preference to join West Ham has been made clear, it will be absolutely vital for the Hammers to move in and sign him as soon as possible.

The last thing we need is to be drawn into a bidding war for him, with the likes of Manchester United thought to be chasing his signature as well.

If he genuinely is available for just £21 million, Lopetegui quite simply needs to wrap this one up as soon as possible.

Youssef En-Nesyri clearly wants to join West Ham, so there will be absolutely no excuses for Lopetegui not to bring him to the London Stadium this summer.

Sullivan swapping Moyes for Lopetegui was clearly the correct decision already as far as I’m concerned, with the Spaniard’s pull well and truly evident.
