New U23 sides for Hungerford and Tadley this season

Both Hungerford Town and Tadley Calleva have announced the creation of new U23 teams for the upcoming season.

At Hungerford, the move sees three coaches formerly of Kintbury Rangers’ youth setup arrive to help support the new squad.

Manager Danny Robinson told club media how he was “absolutely delighted”.

“It is a massive step in the right direction for the club and something I can’t thank the club enough for backing me on.

“As a club we are one family and now our family has grown.”

The side will aim to provide a development pathway to the First Team and will play on Wednesday evenings, with all encouraged to come and watch an entertaining brand of football.

At Tadley, the aims are similar, with Matt Moore and Nigel Parry overseeing the new side.

The team will compete in a newly formed Combined Counties Under 23 division, featuring multiple high level academies.

Parry told Tadley’s club media how the goal was to “develop a clear pathway for players”.

“The squad is being enhanced with players who have the ability, and the ambition, to compete for a first team place.

“This is an exciting time to be part of this new squad, for the players, management & supporters alike.”

Tadley will hold open trials for the new squad on the 4th of July. Those interested should contact Carl on 07955 247 619.
