Report: Chelsea think their ‘versatile’ player could sell for nearly £100m

Chelsea are looking like they won’t be afraid to sell a number of top first team players in order to raise funds this summer.

It has been reported that a deal is close that will seeIan Maatsen move across the Premier League to Aston Villa, opening up the opportunity for him to play in the Champions League next season.

The deal is set to bank the Blues a healthy amount of money, all of which going down on the books as pure profit that will help them with making signings.

While it has been claimed a number of top clubs are keen on signing players from Chelsea, there is one who the Blues are not willing to listen to offers for.

Sides such as Liverpool and Bayern Munich have shown an interest in bringing in Levi Colwill, after just one season in the first team setup at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea think Levi Colwil is worth nearly £100m

While it has been said that they will not sell him under any circumstances, The Athletic have stated that they believe his market value is somewhere near the £100m mark.

This is likely in an attempt to fend off any clubs looking to secure his signature, with him reportedly being a key part in the future under Enzo Maresca.

The former Leicester City man is preparing for his first season in management at the top flight level, and will be keen to get a quick look at who his key players are going to be going forwards.

Many supporters will be of belief that Colwill definitely fits into this bracket, despite the fact his second half of the season was disrupted heavily through injury.

That issue is perhaps why he was not selected by Gareth Southgate for the squad for the European Championships, with England certainly missing a left-footed defender who could play.
