‘Really pushing’: Chelsea are desperate to agree terms with £60m player in the next few days - Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are pushing really hard now to try and secure one big transfer very soon indeed.

The Blues are in a mindset right now of conducting their business early in order to give the best possible platform for success to new manager Enzo Maresca, in what will be his first season as a Premier League manager.

With the free signing of Tosin Adarabioyo confirmed already by the club, they will have been rocked yesterday as potential young addition Pedro Lima now seems to be on his way to Wolves at the last moment.

One player who has consistently been mentioned as a top target this summer is Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

Despite interest from a host of other sides, there has been a reported confidence at Stamford Bridge that they can get the deal over the line this summer.

Chelsea pushing to agree terms with Michael Olise

Now, Romano has claimed that the Blues are pushing hard right now to come to an agreement with the Frenchman, hoping to do so this week.

He said to CaughtOffside: “Chelsea are “REALLY PUSHING” on Olise, trying to agree personal terms, next days will be important to know what Chelsea will do for the player.”

With how important wingers proved to be in Maresca’s title-winning system at Leicester City, there is reason to believe this signing could be transformative as far as Chelsea are concerned.

The fact that he would surely become an instant starter may well end up being harsh on Noni Madueke, who made the right side of attack his own in the latter stages of last season.

However, the quality Olise showed in his injury-ravaged campaign last time out was something else, and he had one of his better performances actually at Stamford Bridge, up against Levi Colwill in a 2-1 defeat to the Blues.
