Report: West Ham's number one transfer target is £25m striker, but Man United want him too

Youssef En-Nesyri is a reported transfer target for West Ham United and Manchester United this summer.

West Ham and Manchester United have Youssef En-Nesyri firmly on their respective radars in the summer transfer window.

The Hammers and the Red Devils are both equally in need of a proven goalscorer before the start of the new season.

The 27-year-old has been a Hammers target since way back in the 2021 January transfer window, and now he has emerged as a priority signing for Julen Lopetegui.

The Hammers boss knows En-Nesyri very well indeed, having managed the striker during his time in charge of Sevilla.

However, in what was a hugely surprising claim a few days ago, it was suggested that Lopetegui is actually targeting a different kind of profile to the 27-year-old striker.

I’m not quite sure I believe that due to the fact that the Sevilla centre-forward has the perfect profile to play in team managed by Lopetegui.

Only time will tell whether he is a real target for West Ham or not, but the latest claim coming out of Spain really is very interesting indeed…

West Ham and Manchester United battling for Youssef En-Nesyri

The Sevilla striker has forged a reputation for himself as one of the most lethal forwards on the continent.

He has a goal rate of better than one in every three games, and is arguably the very best there is when it comes to his aerial ability.

The Moroccan is seemingly available for a real cut-price fee this summer as well.

According to a report from La Colina de Nervión, West Ham’s clear priority now this summer is to sign the Sevilla striker.

However, Man United are chasing the Morocco international’s signature as well it seems.

That said, one club apparently holds a clear advantage over the other in the race to secure the signing of En-Nesyri.

It is alleged that the Hammers are clear favourites to bring the 27-year-old forward to the Premier League, due to Julen Lopetegui’s relationship with him.

That’s great news for West Ham because Youssef En-Nesyri is absolutely perfect for Lopetegui’s system.

The former Leganes hitman has absolutely everything needed to be a very big success in the Premier League.

He’s strong in the air, is always willing to run the channels to help create space for his teammates and is a very good finisher.

En-Nesyri is available for just £25 million as well, and Sevilla are desperate to sell him before June 30th to avoid financial sanctions.

I would be really surprised if the Moroccan isn’t a West Ham player by the start of next season.
