'I am sure': BBC pundit makes claim about Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk after his latest display at Euro 2024

Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk was part of a Ukraine team that got their Euro 2024 tournament back on track with a win over Slovakia on Friday.

Ukraine suffered a surprise 3-0 defeat to Romania in their group stage opener, but they responded yesterday with a 2-1 victory against Slovakia.

For Mykhailo Mudryk, he’s certainly one of the star names for his country in this tournament and has started both games so far in his usual left wing position.

The 23-year-old is still waiting for his first goal or assist of the tournament. However, he showed glimpses of his quality in the Slovakia win.

Chelsea star shines for Ukraine

BBC pundit James McFadden actually really liked what he saw from Mudryk on Friday with Ukraine coming from behind to beat Slovakia.

While he admits the Chelsea forward is still raw and has lots to improve on, he’s claims he impressed yesterday.

“There is a lot of expectation on him. He has been signed for a lot of money. Of course, it’s not (his fault that he cost a lot of money). He is not the finished article,” McFadden said on BBC One’s during coverage of Slovakia vs Ukraine (4:00pm, 21 June).

“He has to develop, he has to learn how to play the game, get better at making better decisions. The only way to get better and make better decisions is by making mistakes and being allowed to grow from that.

“That was a good performance from him in the second half, and I am sure he will take huge confidence going forward from that.”
