Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to host flag-raising ceremony to mark the start of Armed Forces Week

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council will be hosting a flag-raising ceremony to mark the start of Armed Forces Week.

Mayor Dan Putty has invited members of the armed forces community to attend the service that will take place on Monday, June 24, at 10am at the Civic Offices in Basingstoke.

The event will include a one-minute silence and an address from the Bishop of Basingstoke David Williams.

The Armed Forces Day flag will then be raised by the mayor and will fly all week leading up to Armed Forces Day on Saturday, June 29.
