Reporter close to David Sullivan shares the next two signings Lopetegui wants to make

A reporter very close to David Sullivan has just lifted the lid on what signings Julen Lopetegui is targeting now.

Julen Lopetegui has already brought Luis Guilherme to the London Stadium, and is thought to be closing in on a deal for Wes Foderingham, but the West Ham manager is intent on making more signings.

It has been claimed by a top Hammers source that Lopetegui is very keen to get the majority of his transfer business wrapped up by the time our pre-season campaign kicks off on July 20th.

I like that idea – it’s so much better than leaving the bulk of the transfer business right up to the final week of the transfer window, just like Lopetegui’s predecessor David Moyes did.

The new Hammers boss needs to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium in pretty much every single department.

The two areas in most urgent need of attention are the centre-forward and centre-back departments though, I don’t think anybody can argue against that.

And now it seems like Lopetegui is set to embark on a big summer spending spree…

The next two signings Julen Lopetegui wants to make

The former Wolves boss is attacking the summer transfer window in a really ruthless manner.

It makes such a refreshing change for the Hammers fans after the way that Moyes used to operate.

Tim Steidten is identifying players to suit Lopetegui’s system, and if the deal is feasible for the owners, then the Spaniard has the final say.

Now, the Hammers transfer team are moving into position to make two key signings.

According to Sean Whetstone, Lopetegui and Steidten have now set their sights firmly on deals to sign a striker and a centre-back.

Max Kilman seems to be the West Ham manager’s main centre-back target, but the Hammers will have to pay £45 million to get that deal done.

Then in the striker department, it has been said that signing Youssef En-Nesyri is the Spaniard’s absolute priority this summer.

If Julen Lopetegui manages to bring both of those players to the London Stadium, it will be a great summer transfer window for West Ham.

However, if he’s unsuccessful in his attempts to sign Kilman and En-Nesyri, there are plenty of other options out there including the likes of Nehuen Perez and Simon Banza.
