£19m player has given the green light to join Chelsea this summer, talks now underway - journalist

Chelsea’s summer transfer target has given the green light by saying that he would be prepared to make the move to Stamford Bridge in this window.

While Chelsea has been a bit of a chaotic place to be in the last few years, there’s still plenty of positive reasons to end up in West London.

The Blues have been slowly assembling a talented and young squad. Hopefully, new head coach Enzo Maresca is the man in the dugout to get the best out of them.

The latest transfer rumours suggests that Chelsea are edging closer to another summer signing. They’ve already captured Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer, plus it was announced on Saturday that Estevao Willian has signed and officially joins next summer.

£19m player prepared to join Chelsea

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed via X that Aston Villa youngster Omari Kellyman has given the ‘green light’ on a potential transfer to Chelsea.

It is understood that talks are underway with the 18-year old-attacker over personal terms.

Apparently, the teenager’s transfer would be around £19m.

This comes after The Athletic claimed earlier on Saturday that Chelsea are close to reaching an agreement with league rivals Villa to sign Kellyman.

The young forward has only played six first-team games as a Villa player, but he could be about to earn an expensive move to Chelsea.

Would Omari Kellyman play?

The fact is that Kellyman has only had a very brief exposure to senior football, which does worry us if he’s being primed for Chelsea’s first-team squad next season.

He’s excelled at youth level as a left-footed attacker with great skill and goal threat. Does that mean he’s ready for regular men’s football, though?

Perhaps one positive for Chelsea’s youngsters next term is the club’s participation in the UEFA Conference League. Surely, it’s a competition to rest and rotate the squad, while also take a look at some younger options.
