Report: Chelsea have been scouting £20m player for months, they've now made their opening bid

Chelsea are starting to get busy in this transfer window.

The Blues confirmed on Saturday that they had agreed a deal with Palmeiras to sign teenage winger Estevao Willian.

It comes after Chelsea landed Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham on a free transfer earlier this month.

According to The Athletic, they are now in talks with the representatives of Lille’s Jonathan David about a potential move this summer.

And if they do go on to sign the 24-year-old, it does not look like they will stop there.

Chelsea could sign young South American

Estevao may not be the only South American Chelsea sign during this transfer window.

The Blues have really looked at the South American market recently and they are still there it seems.

According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea have made a £14m offer for Boca Juniors centre-back Aaron Anselmino.

The outlet claims that the club have been tracking Anselmino for months, but Boca want the player’s £20m release clause to be paid before they let him go.

Having bid £14m, you would expect Chelsea to now increase their offer by another £6m and complete the deal for Anselmino.

Aaron Anselmino and Estevao Willian Chelsea’s future?

Like Estevao, Anselmino would be another young signing for Chelsea, with the Argentine still just 19 years of age.

The Blues targeting him shows once again that the club are building a team for the future.

Kendry Paez, 17, is another young talent who Chelsea have on their books.

Chelsea could have quite an exciting team in the future, then, but supporters will not want the club’s owners and sporting directors to neglect Enzo Maresca‘s current side.

After all, this is a Chelsea side who finished sixth last season and in 12th the campaign before.

They need to get back into the Champions League, so fans will also want to see the club signing players who can make a difference now.
