'Important player': Chelsea really value £30m man amid exit rumours - Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano has been discussing how Chelsea view one of their players.

Chelsea are trying to make new signings right now, which could have an impact on some members in their current squad.

The Blues have reportedly made Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion a top target, while there is also strong interest in Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise.

According to Romano, Chelsea are trying to agree personal terms with the 22-year-old at present.

Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke played out on the right last season, so it will be interesting to see what Enzo Maresca does with those two if the club do go on to land Olise this summer.

Chelsea consider attacker important

Chelsea bringing in the likes of Omorodion and Olise could have ramifications for the likes of David Datro Fofana and Madueke.

It has already been claimed that the Blues could be willing to sell Fofana this summer, while Madueke is being linked to Juventus.

Romano, however, says Chelsea still value the latter.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, the transfer expert said: “I’m also aware of a Chelsea rumour involving Noni Madueke and Juventus, but I have no updates on this at the moment.

“Madueke is an important player for Chelsea, so there is really nothing concrete on his future so far. We will see if something changes in the next weeks, but for now Juventus are also focused on the Douglas Luiz swap deal with Aston Villa.”

Why Noni Madueke is important to Chelsea

Madueke proved to be a really good alternative to Palmer on the right last season.

He started the campaign slowly, not being named in Mauricio Pochettino‘s first XI for a Premier League game until October.

However, in the second half of the season, Madueke was given more minutes and managed to make a real impact at times.

For example, the 22-year-old grabbed goals against Sheffield United, Aston Villa and West Ham United in April and May.Alongside Palmer, he also had the joint-highest average for dribbles per game (1.6), according to WhoScored.

Madueke, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in a £30m deal in 2023, certainly has his value to Chelsea.
