'My priority...': Steve Bull names two things that must happen at Wolves in summer transfer window

Wolves legend Steve Bull has outlined the two things he hopes to see happen at Molineux during the summer transfer window.

It’s been a rapid start to the 2024/25 transfer window for Wolves, who have already secured the signatures of three top talents.

Tommy Doyle made his loan from Manchester City permanent, with Rodrigo Gomes and Pedro Lima joining the Englishman at Molineux.

While further activity is expected from Gary O’Neil’s side this summer, club legend Steve Bull has urged Wolves to pull off two things during the window.

Steve Bull urges Wolves to sign a striker and add more experience to the squad

Writing a column for Express and Star, Bull expressed his delight at his former club’s early moves in the transfer window.

While the ex-Wolves striker has been impressed by O’Neil and Matt Hobbs’ early work, he explained that he hopes to see more experience added to the side.

“It’s only a good sign to see fresh faces coming through the door, however, I would also like to see some more experience coming into the side.

“We saw at the end of last season how we missed some older heads.”

Bull, like many others, would like to see some experience added to the squad however, it’s not considered his ‘priority’ for the Old Gold this summer.

“My priority would also be to sign a striker. It won’t be for a lack of trying, the scouts are working hard and I think it’s a matter of time before we see some more signings coming in.”

Gary O’Neil will agree with Bull comments

The Old Gold had an encouraging first season under O’Neil however, the latter stages of the campaign saw Wolves settle for a 14th-place finish.

The position could have been both a lot better and a lot worse, with the lack of depth and injuries to key players taking its toll on performance levels.

One notable absence was Craig Dawson, whose injury left Wolves’ defence looking unorganised as the 34-year-old offered O’Neil’s side invaluable experience.

The same can be said for Mario Lemina, who played a pivotal role in O’Neil’s squad thanks to his long domestic career in and around Europe.

This summer, the boss can take inspiration from last term’s frailties and Bulls comments, with added experience only set to be beneficial for Wolves and their young players.

Elsewhere, the hunt for a new striker goes on, in what is poised to be a thrilling summer in the transfer market for the Midlands club.
