Report: What Nottingham Forest are hoping helps them with Premier League PSR situation

Nottingham Forest are trying to move players on in order to avoid another points deduction ahead of next season.

The Reds were docked four points last season as they stayed in the Premier League by the skin of their teeth.

Forest finished 17th in the Premier League as all three promoted teams made an instant return to the Championship.

Now, Forest will hope to get their squad ready for the new campaign – with a points deduction the last thing that the club needs.

Forest have a host of players who are in the sights of a number of clubs with Murillo and Morgan Gibbs-White the two who could potentially earn the club the most in the way of a transfer fee.

Now, it’s been claimed what might help Forest when it comes to ensuring they stay within the PSR guidelines for the latest cycle.

What Forest hope works in their favour ahead of PSR checks

The Premier League will be a tougher league next season and it’s imperative that Forest avoid a deduction again.

The Reds need to ensure they can compete on a level playing field and ultimately they have to get things right.

According to The Sun on Sunday, it’s claimed that Forest hope that a chain of emails will prove to the Premier League that they’ve tried to offload players.

Although Forest might not actually get the deals over the line by the deadline it’s hoped that the club can avoid any sanctions from the Premier League.

The Reds will be fielding questions about several top players and it looks as though the club are going to try and stand firm.

Forest must avoid points deduction this season

It’s admirable that Evangelos Marinakis doesn’t seem overly desperate to sell players but he’s got to use some common sense with this.

Everton breached their PSR cycle twice and in total, they were deducted eight points last season.

Now, Forest must avoid breaching PSR for the second successive time and it’s imperative they don’t lose any points before the season has even started.

The Premier League won’t be as easy to negotiate next season and Forest will hope for a journey that isn’t quite as bumpy.

In our view, this email chain might not count for much and Forest are going to have to be very careful if this is the risk they’re going to take.
