Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian seems to be very pleased about his move to Chelsea.
Chelsea confirmed on Saturday that they had agreed a deal with Palmeiras to sign Estevao Willian.
With the Brazilian still just 17, he will not be able to officially join Enzo Maresca‘s squad until next summer.
Nevertheless, being one of the rising stars in Brazil right now, Estevao is a very exciting signing for Chelsea.
One player who Chelsea will not be signing this summer is Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise. The Athletic reported on Friday that the Blues had pulled out of the race for his signature, but according to Fabrizio Romano, they still plan to bring in a new winger before the transfer window closes.
Chelsea move a dream for Estevao Willian
Chelsea are no longer the club they once were.
They are not competing in the Champions League and even finished in 12th a couple of seasons ago.
However, Estevao is still buzzing about joining the Blues.
In response to Chelsea’s official announcement of his signing, the wide man posted on his Instagram story: “One more dream come true.”
Chelsea to sign Omari Kellyman next?
Estevao is unlikely to be the only youngster who Chelsea sign this summer.
According to BBC Sport, the Blues are close to landing Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa.
The outlet claims that Kellyman is expected to be part of Maresca’s first-team squad next season, unlike Estevao.
However, the attacking midfielder is still just 18 and joins a side who are already lacking experience.
It is a very young Chelsea squad, an even younger one now following the departure of 39-year-old Thiago Silva.
The likes of Kellyman and Estevao, who cannot even move to Stamford Bridge yet, are not going to get the club back into the Champions League. But it appears that Chelsea are not just looking at next season as they continue to target young players with potential.
