West Ham hope new structure will see Wolves accept third bid for Kilman

West Ham hope a new deal structure will see Wolves accept third bid for Max Kilman Hammers News understands.

With Luis Guilherme signed, West Ham have turned their attentions to trying to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Max Kilman.

The London-born centre-back has been a Hammers target since last summer.

But the arrival of Kilman’s former boss Julen Lopetegui at West Ham has seen that interest ramped up.

The Spaniard made Kilman captain during his spell with Wolves.

And the 27-year-old ball-carrying centre half is one of four players on a list of targets Lopetegui presented to Hammers majority owner David Sullivan and technical director Tim Steidten when being interviewed.

West Ham pushing hard to sign Wolves captain

West Ham’s new head coach has decided he wants captain Kurt Zouma sold. So Zouma and Nayef Aguerd are expected to follow Angelo Ogbonna and Thilo Kehrer in leaving the club on a permanent basis.

Two centre-backs are being sought and the prime target among those is Wolves’ skipper Kilman.

Give Me Sport claimed this weekend that West Ham were about to submit a second offer for Kilman.

West Ham exclusively confirmed to Hammers News that Kilman is ‘one of a number of players the club is bidding for’.

It’s claimed a first Hammers offer of £25m was rejected before a second improved offer was also snubbed by Wolves.

West Ham hope new structure will see third Kilman bid accepted

Journalist Jack Rosser has revealed that Wolves rejected West Ham’s second offer amounting to £30m on Saturday.

He confirmed the Hammers have not been perturbed, though, and are already planning to submit a third offer.

“Wolves officially rejected West Ham’s bid for Max Kilman this morning,” Sun journalist Rosser said yesterday.

“Offered £30m with add-ons, but proposed to spread that fee over a six-year deal for Kilman.

“West Ham already preparing another bid but are reluctant to pay more than £35m.”

Hammers News understands West Ham are hoping a change to the structure of the deal they are proposing to Wolverhampton Wanderers’ chiefs will be enough to convince them to sell Kilman.

Hammers Max out Kilman bid in third offer

According to key sources at the club, the third offer will be more in the region of £35m.

But the payments will be made over a shorter period of four years and West Ham will also include add-ons to potentially raise the deal to nearer £40m.

Hammers News exclusively revealed recently that Sullivan is willing to push the boat out to get a deal done for Kilman to please his new head coach.

Amid the bids from West Ham, there have been claims Wolves are not under pressure to sell.

If that is the case then nobody has told the Molineux club’s manager.

Because Wolves boss Gary O’Neil recently admitted they will have to sell a star or two in order to make their own signings this summer.

Kilman reportedly earns £50k per week at Wolves. He can expect to more than double that at West Ham, who pay Zouma £125k per week.
