Newark Business Awards 2024: ANASA Boutique Reformer Pilates. wins Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality Award with Midlands Fitness Games highly commended

The first winner of the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality Award at Newark Business Awards was ANASA Boutique Reformer Pilates.

The category was introduced this year aimed at any business or organisation involved in the delivery of leisure, tourism, visitor attractions,

ANASA Boutique Reformer Pilates offers an innovative method of fitness in an intimate environment usually available in larger cities.

Winners of the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality category ANASA Boutique Reformer Pilates, with Keith Girling of sponsors Nottinghamshire County Council.

Margarita Papadopoulou and George Koutsothanasis said of winning the award: "It is amazing, it is unbelievable.

"The focus for us was the community and we started from scratch and this community has grown, not only our clients but the whole of Newark, other businesses.

"We want to work together with other businesses and make Newark better, we say that everyone gets results.

"With this award, more people get to know about us, it is fantastic."

Winners of the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality category ANASA Boutique Reformer Pilates.

ANASA focuses on creating a place which delivers results in a fun and welcome way. It has developed classes for all ages, including children and elderly, and for all fitness levels, from people new in fitness to athletes.

As a result, around 300 people attend its classes every week from across the county and further afield such as Grantham, Nottingham, Lincoln, Sleaford and Mansfield, increasing footfall to Newark town centre.

Highly commended in this category was Midlands Fitness Games.

Based at Newark Showground, itis a fitness event company that puts on competitions for athletes all over the UK,allowing them to compete and test their fitness and strength against other athletes, all while having a fun experience.

It runs several events throughout the year and accommodate for all abilities.

Around 700 people attend these events over a weekend – 350-plus athletes plus family/spectators. Most of these athletes stay the night in the town or surrounding areas.

Highly-commended in the Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality category were Midlands Fitness Games, pictured with Keith Girling of sponsors Nottinghamshire County Council.

It also encourages local vendors to have stalls and stands at their events.

With the games now selling out, the company is always looking to improve and expand, such as adding extra days and equipment.
