Lopetegui has brand new target with 'world-class' striker allegedly available for bargain £12m fee

West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui has a new striker target this summer, and he could be picked up for a real bargain this summer.

Julen Lopetegui desperately needs to bolster his striker department at West Ham in the summer transfer window, and is said to be prioritising exactly that.

The Spaniard has already kicked off his Hammers reign in style with the signing of Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme.

Wes Foderingham is closing in on a move to the London Stadium, and once that deal is done, signing a proven striker and a top-class centre-back will be the main priorities for Lopetegui.

I personally think the addition of a new striker should be the 57-year-old’s main aim, and he has been heavily linked with the likes of Youssef En-Nesyri and Simon Banza this summer.

Other well-known strikers like Tammy Abraham and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have been mentioned as well.

However, there is now another name apparently attracting attention from the Hammers manager…

Julen Lopetegui has a brand new striker target in mind

As mentioned earlier, signing a top-class forward will be absolutely vital for Lopetegui this summer.

And a new transfer target has seemingly just emerged for the Spaniard.

According to the Mirror (print edition June 23rd, page 76), the Hammers are tracking Adam Hlozek very closely indeed this summer.

And what’s more, Bayer Leverkusen could be prepared to sell the Czech Republic international for a bargain £12 million fee.

Signing the 21-year-old for that kind of money seems like an absolute no-brainer to me.

West Ham were heavily linked with a move to sign Hlozek back in the summer of 2022, but Bayer Leverkusen won the race for his signature in the end, paying Sparta Prague around £11 million for his services.

Now the Hammers could have another bite at the cherry, and it’s a transfer that we definitely should be pursuing as far as I’m concerned.

The 21-year-old was once described as a world-class talent by Goal, and on his day, he’s a real handful for opposing defenders.

He possesses exceptional technique, impressive pace, is a very good finisher and has the potential to go on and become a truly elite striker.

His ability to play anywhere along the front-line would be a real bonus for West Ham as well.

Julen Lopetegui seemingly has a new striker target in mind in the shape of Adam Hlozek. And if West Ham sign the Czech ace for just £12 million, he could end up being one of the signings of the summer as far as I’m concerned.
