Player would be Leeds' sixth most-expensive sale ever if 49ers accept Premier League club's new bid

Leeds United have reportedly received an offer from a Premier League club and if they accept the offer, the player in question would be the club’s sixth most-expensive sale in Leeds’ history.

The 49ers have already made to clear that they will have to sell a few players this summer in order to bring in some cash at Elland Road, to repay some of the £190m owed in player transfers to other clubs.

Players like Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray, Ilia Gruev, Illan Meslier, Junior Firpo, Pascal Struijk and others have attracted interest over the past 12 months at Leeds, as well as Italy winger Willy Gnonto.

The pocket-sized winger failed to live up to his initial hype earned while starring in the Premier League during 2023-24, failing to start many games during the first half of the season under boss Daniel Farke.

Premier League club table bid for Leeds United star Willy Gnonto

The 20-year-old is expected to leave Elland Road in the coming weeks and months. Leeds prevented his exit last summer when he pushed for an exit and refused to play three games for Leeds in August.

But the potential is there and Nottingham Forest have reportedly made a bid worth £16.9m to sign the former Inter Milan and Zurich winger. Leeds are yet to make a decision on whether to accept that offer.

However, a decision as per the report is expected in the coming days. If Leeds do accept, which might be in their best interests, would make Gnonto the sixth most-expensive sale in the Yorkshire club’s history.
