Quadruple shooting leaves 2 victims fighting for their lives

Authorities are investigating a shooting early Sunday that injured four victims, including two who remain hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Trenton police.

Shots were fired shortly after 1:30 a.m. in the area of Walnut Avenue and Monmouth Street, said Trenton Police Det. Lt. Lisette Rios. All four were taken to an area hospital for the treatment of gunshot wounds.

One victim is in “extremely critical condition” from multiple gunshot wounds, Rios said Sunday afternoon. A second person is listed in stable, but critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds.

The other two victims have been released from the hospital following treatment of single gunshot wounds, she said.

No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting, Rios said. The investigation has since been turned over to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office’s Homicide Task Force.

Anyone who witnessed or has information about the shooting should call the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office at 609-989-6351 or the Trenton Police Department’s non-emergency number at 609-989-4170.
