Laney Frye earns 2023-24 Golfweek All America Honorable Mention

Kentucky golf senior Laney Frye has been named a Golfweek All-America Honorable Mention. The four-time program record holder earns her second All-America honor of the season and the fourth of her career.

Frye concluded this past season with a 71.0 stroke average over 10 tournaments and 29 rounds, the second best in program history, coming after her record-setting 70.9 stroke average in the 2022-23 season.

She finished her college career first (2022-23, 20) and second (2023-24, 17) in single-season par-or-better rounds in the program’s history, and also ranks first in career par-or-better rounds (64).

The Nicholasville native also holds the program’s record for the best 18-hole round (9-under-par 63) from her performance in the NCAA Pullman Regional during her junior season.

She was named to the All-Southeastern Conference First Team this past season and finished in third place at the 2024 SEC Tournament out of 65 contenders. Over 10 tournaments just this season, Frye has placed in the top 20 eight times, top 15 six times, top 10 five times, and top five three times.

Frye was also invited to the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur for the second year in a row.

Her four-year career at Kentucky is decorated with four program records and multiple All-America and All-SEC accolades, highlighting both her athletic and academic performances at Kentucky.
