Once thought to be a potential future Kentucky Wildcat, class of 2025 wide receiver Montavin Quisenberry is headed out of state.
On Friday night, Quisenberry announced his commitment to West Virginia. A 5-foot-9, 175-pound versatile pass-catcher out of Danville (KY) Boyle County, he chose the Mountaineers over offers from the likes of Kentucky, Michigan, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, and others. He’s considered a three-star prospect and is ranked No. 756 overall by the On3 Industry Ranking.
In Morgantown, Quisenberry will link up with head coach Neal Brown, who played at UK from 1998-2000 and also served as the Wildcats’ offensive coordinator from 2013-14.
Quisenberry had been on Kentucky’s radar for a couple of years now. The in-state recruit initially received an offer from associate head coach Vince Marrow in Oct. 2022 before taking several visits to UK’s campus over the next couple of seasons. There was a belief that he might end up taking an official visit to Kentucky earlier this month, but that ultimately never happened, and he instead elected to lock up his spot at WVU.
With Quisenberry off the board, Kentucky will look to fill out its wide receiver room for the 2025 recruiting class. On Saturday, the Wildcats received a commitment from Preston Bowman out of Ohio, who is also being recruited by Ohio State (which offered him on Sunday), Michigan, and Louisville.
Additionally, four-star Quintin Simmons and three-star Ja’Kayden Ferguson are also on board with Kentucky as new wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts continues to make his mark in year one on staff.
