Liverpool reignite interest in Arda Guler

According to Marca, via The Standard, Liverpool have reignited their interest in Real Madrid wonderkid Arda Guler.

The 19-year-old is currently away with Turkey at the European Championships in Germany and has already made a big impression, netting a wonder goal in their thrilling opening game win against Georgia.

Guler may struggle for game time next term with Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo to compete with, so perhaps Madrid will be open to a loan move.

Though, they have little desire to sacntion a permanent sale, which may deter Liverpool’s interest.

Arda Guler profile

Guler, labelled ‘one of the best young players’ in world football by Stephen Smith, can operate in a number of positions from out wide on the right to playing as a traditional number 10 and even as a central midfielder.

The left-footed playmaker has been dubbed the ‘the Turkish Messi’ by CNN and it’s easy to see why given his style of play.

If Liverpool were to land his signature, he’d likely operate as an advanced eight, in a similar role to Harvey Elliot.

Though, at this stage, with his stock rising in every game at the Euros, it seems unlikely Madrid would even be willing to sanction a loan deal.
