£200k-a-week Arsenal transfer target now 'ready to say yes' to Saudi Arabia move

A rumoured Arsenal transfer target is reportedly set to move to Saudi Arabia despite interest from the Gunners.

The north London side are yet to make their first official signing of the window, though that hasn’t stopped Arsenal from being linked with a number of big-name players, most notably Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

With the Gunners also in the market for a new central midfielder and defender, it’s clear that Mikel Arteta’s side are biding their time when it comes to making signings, with the right profile instead of any profile being targeted.

Yet it appears that Arsenal have now missed out on one rumoured target to Saudi Arabia.

Wojciech Szczesny agrees to Al-Nassr move despite Arsenal interest

According to Tutto Juve, Wojciech Szczesny is ‘ready to say yes’ to a surprise move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, with Arsenal now set to miss out on re-signing the Polish international from Juventus this summer.

The former Emirates Stadium star has been eyed as a potential replacement for Aaron Ramsdale, with the Arsenal goalkeeper expected to move on this summer, having lost out on his starting XI spot this season to David Raya.

Even with a reported wage at Juventus worth £200,000-a-week, Szczesny could have been an ideal signing for Arsenal given his immense amount of UEFA Champions League experience and impressive list of accolades won with the Old Lady.

However, it’s Al-Nassr who have won the race for Szczesny’s signature, and Arsenal will now have to return to the drawing board to come up with a new option to replace Ramsdale this summer, should the England international move on.

Arsenal have to get creative in signing Ramsdale’s replacement

Ramsdale is likely to leave Arsenal this summer, which means the Gunners could have to get creative in who can replace the former Sheffield United man given his homegrown status.

With Raya likely to play in every Premier League and UEFA Champions League match, Arsenal’s quest to sign a new goalkeeper who can meet the Premier League’s homegrown requirements could be easier said than done.

And with Szczesny off the table, the search for a new option has to begin now, with a solid backup keeper vital for Arsenal if they’re to challenge for silverware next season.
