'Super satisfied'... Manager and teammate rally round Man Utd star, he's the third fastest player at Euro 2024

Manchester United have seen one player eliminated from Euro 2024 already as the group stages reach their conclusion.

Scott McTominay’s winless Scotland side were dumped out of the competition, and next up Denmark are pushing to avoid the same.

The Danes have drawn their opening two matches and need a win against Serbia to secure qualification to the knockout rounds.

It would help if striker Rasmus Hojlund started scoring, with the Manchester United striker goalless through the first two matches.

Rasmus Hojlund backed in Denmark

Rasmus Hojlund is now without a goal in his last six Denmark international matches in all competitions.

He was substituted after 63 minutes of Denmark’s draw with England.

Denmark’s manager Kasper Hjulmand has delivered his backing to the Manchester United striker, with what he has seen from his performances so far.

He told Bold: “I must say, I am super satisfied with what Rasmus has delivered for us during the European Championships.”

He added: “Rasmus is not suffering, but no one should be in doubt that he wants to score goals.”

Teammate Yussuf Poulsen has also defended Hojlund and pointed out that Hojlund has not had any real chances to miss.

Poulsen told Bold: “It is not because he has wasted huge chances. Let’s put it this way. In this game [v England], he was not the one who got the chances.”

He also praised Hojlund’s defensive work and overall contribution towards the team.

He added: “It was some other players [who missed chances], and that’s how it is sometimes, but you just shouldn’t underestimate how important it is for a team like Denmark, who play against possibly Europe’s best team, that everyone does their part to create chances and defend the goal.

“Rasmus was good there – really good even – and better than he has been in the past, if I’m being completely honest.”

Rasmus Hojlund set new top speed v England

We reported ahead of Denmark’s clash v England how Rasmus Hojlund was one of the fastest players at Euro 2024, after setting a speed of 35.3 km/h in his country’s opening game against Slovenia.

Against England he went slightly faster, setting a top sprint speed of 35.5 km/h, per UEFA data.

To date in the tournament, only two players have clocked faster speeds.

Romania forward Valentin Mihaila (35.8) and Swiss striker Dan Ndoye (35.6) are the only players to set faster speeds.
