New name linked as West Ham reportedly eye swoop for 'undeniably world-class' French attacker

Lyon starlet Rayan Cherki is now being linked with a move to West Ham United this summer.

West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui may well be on the lookout for a new attacking midfielder, with Lucas Paqueta facing a lifetime ban if he is found guilty of potential betting breaches.

And Lyon youngster Rayan Cherki seems to be a prime candidate for the job at the London Stadium.

The super talented French youngster has taken the footballing world by storm over the past couple of years.

And Lyon will have the devil’s own job of keeping hold of him.

Cherki will be out of contract with the Ligue 1 outfit next summer, and it seems as though his days at the Groupama Stadium could be coming to an end.

So could the Hammers really sign such a highly talented, extremely sought after young star of the future?

Rayan Cherki to West Ham link emerges

The Lyon youngster could well be London Stadium bound this summer it seems, and what an incredibly exciting link that is.

Cherki is attracting interest from the likes of German giants Borussia Dortmund and French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window.

But according to Get Football News France, the Hammers have thrown their hat into the ring as well.

What an unbelievably exciting signing the 20-year-old would be for West Ham. Total Football Analysis say he has ‘undeniable world-class’ ability.

The Frenchman bagged three goals and nine assists for Lyon last season – a fine return for someone so young.

He is an attacking midfielder by trade, but can also operate on either wing if need be.

Cherki possesses exceptional technical ability, has a keen eye for a pass and has fantastic vision.

He is cool and composed in possession, and would offer the Hammers a completely different facet to our attacking play.

If West Ham sign Rayan Cherki this summer, it would be a huge statement of intent from the club, and he could be the perfect long-term replacement for Paqueta.
