Nicola Peltz has shared a heartbreaking post following the death of her dog Nala, who tragically died after a grooming appointment.
You’ve likely seen Nicola Peltz Beckham showcase her acting talents on both the big and small screen. The 29-year-old American actress shone as Bradley Martin in the TV series Bates Motel but has also widened her scope to blockbusters such as Transformers: Age Of Extinction (2014), as well as more recent efforts such as Lola and Holidate. Her Instagram feed includes family snaps and anniversary posts for her husband Brooklyn, whom she married in 2022, but some fans have been much more interested in seeing her beloved pet chihuahua, Nala. In a devastating post, Nicola broke the news of her dog’s startling death.

Breaking the upsetting news on Instagram, Nicola shared a string of paragraphs on her Instagram story.
“My heart has been shattered these last few months,” she shared on Saturday, June 22nd 2024. “This last month in particular has been one of the most painful I’ve ever gone through. From my Naunni’s passing to my angel Nala’s shocking and sudden death – going into the dog groomers healthy and coming out in distress and passing a few hours after – our entire family is devastated.”
She admitted she’s received messages from a range of people sharing their own “horrifying experiences with their animals and groomers.”

Ultimately, she’s spoken out about refusing to end inquiries there. “One of my life’s missions has always been advocating for the safety and well-being of dogs and animals,” she wrote.
Determined not to let another family be affected by the same heartbreak, she’s “relentlessly investigating the situation to find out what happened in that groomer’s van.”
She claimed the groomer wasn’t “cooperating with our investigation” but that this wouldn’t dissuade her from prying further. “I am doing everything I can to uncover the truth.”
The celebrity has not named the groomer.
Friends and fans are reaching out to Nicola in sympathy
Nicola has shared a couple of posts on Instagram, one shedding more insight into the matter. “She went to the groomers yesterday but came out hyperventilating and couldn’t catch her breath,” she explained, adding that Nala was rushed to the vet but died hours later.
A wide range of commenters are urging for an investigation into the groomer. Meanwhile, others have said that it’s unfair to condemn the groomer before there is evidence to confirm they were responsible.
“Oh, angel girl,” actress Selma Blair commented on one of the posts in support. “The pain is so bleak. I’m so sorry.”
Her mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham reposted Nicola’s statement and wrote: “Thinking about you at this difficult time, we love you.”
American actress Jaime King also reached out to offer her condolences: “My love. I am so so very sorry.” More and more sympathies are being paid as we speak.
