Report: West Ham could now sign ‘excellent’ striker for just £10m this summer

Julen Lopetegui looks set to prioritise the signing of a new striker at West Ham United this summer.

A lack of goals upfront was a huge problem for David Moyes last season as Michail Antonio managed just six in the Premier League.

Danny Ings also ended the campaign with one goal to his name and despite another prolific season for Jarrod Bowen, a new striker feels like a must for West Ham.

A host of names have been linked with a move to the London Stadium, including Lille’s Jonathan David, Bayer Leverkusen’s Adam Hlozek and Brentford star Ivan Toney.

Bringing in a new striker is usually an expensive task but one West Ham target could be available at a cut price this summer.

West Ham target available for just £10m

The Hammers have been linked with a move for Juventus striker Moise Kean in recent weeks.

Lopetegui’s men have reportedly asked Juve for information about Kean with the striker looking set to leave Turin.

Now, Tutto Juve reports that Kean is valued by the Italian giants at a fee worth around £10 million.

However, West Ham could face stern competition for the 24-year-old’s signature as Atletico Madrid are also keen.

Kean’s record in the Premier League

Despite failing to reach his potential as of yet, Kean would arrive at West Ham with Premier League experience.

The Italian striker spent a couple of years at Everton before rejoining Juventus in 2021.

Labelled an ‘excellent’ forward, Kean spent one of his two years at Goodison Park on loan at PSG, netting 13 goals in 26 Ligue 1 appearances.

However, the striker managed just two goals in 34 appearances for Everton in England’s top flight.

His record in front of goal has been far from convincing since his move back to Juve too, bagging just 14 goals for the club over the past three years.
