The likes of Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Raheem Sterling provide goals in the squad. Don’t forget teammates search as Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk and Christopher Nkunku, too.

Rio Ferdinand praises Chelsea target

Rio Ferdinand has shared that he’s a huge fan of Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams following some eye-catching performances for Spain at this summer’s Euro 2024 tournament.

He started an impressed in Spain’s victories over Croatia and Italy before being rested for the final group stage match against Albania on Monday night.

This comes amid transfer rumours that Chelsea like the 21-year-old Spanish winger.

Ferdinand said: “Who buys him? He’s got a buyout clause of mid-£50m I read somewhere. The pace is electric. I love him. I think [he’s] the player of the round.”

Nico Williams a popular target

Chelsea aren’t the only club linked with Bilbao’s highly-rated attacker Williams.

TEAMtalk recently claimed that Chelsea face competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona to sign Williams. There’s ‘strong interest’ from the Blues in the La Liga ace, who’s got a release clause worth around €58m (£49m).

Williams looks extremely fast and direct in a Spain kit, so we’re not surprised to see speculation about his future.

His international performances come fresh off a great year for Bilbao, where he scored eight goals and made 19 assists in 37 matches across all competitions last season.

The left-winger has the potential to be a top signing for any club, but Chelsea should weigh up if they need enough option in the wide areas.
